...then you might like Ou Dorobou Jing add

Despite being an episodic series, Ou Dorobou Jing has some similarities to D.Gray-man. Both are fantasy stories with a gothic aesthetic, and Jing and Allen are two protagonists shrouded in mystery who travel the world facing numerous challenges, always accompanied by their flying partners. Jing and Allen also possess powers related to their arms, with both being able to transform them into powerful weapons; the difference is that Jing uses his right arm, while Allen uses his left. Hoshino doesn't mention it, but I'm sure she drew a lot of inspiration from Ou Dorobou Jing, especially its sequel (and Trigun too, but let's leave that for another recommendation).

Both are urban fantasy stories about young teenagers who possess the ability to interact with the supernatural and exorcise evil spirits/yokai with the help of their spiritual guardians.

If you liked Bleach add

...then you might like Ga-Rei add

I believe Ga-Rei was heavily inspired and influenced by Bleach; both series feature a young main character who can see spirits and supernatural beings, but whose life is turned upside down after meeting a mysterious girl who possesses the same abilities as him. If you liked the beginning of Bleach and its urban fantasy aesthetic, then you'll love Ga-Rei.

An episodic series featuring a mysterious main character who travels the world performing incredible and absurd feats. Jing and Bolt always have the situation under control regardless of the enemies and challenges they face, and wherever they go, they always end up winning the hearts of countless girls.
