Jinzou Ningen Kikaider The Animation is an Anime aired at 2000 based on a manga from decades ago. While it tries to do something interesting, it fails in almost everything.
First, despite being an Anime released in the year 2000, without context, it looks like a 70s Anime at very least since its respecting Ishinomori's original artstyle instead of just using a typical 2000s Anime artstyle. Even if it was watched when it was released, the artstyle is hard to get used to considering its not common to see. But the artstyle is probably one of the few positives things about this Anime. Unfortunately, the
...
animation is very poor most of the time which its not even average by 2000s standards. It even ruin the supposed sad scenes this Anime tries to do.
The characters are probably the worst aspect in this Anime. While having basic archetypes are ok as long they are tolerable, this Anime clearly is not going any favors. Jirou, the protagonist, and the Kohmyoji siblings, Mitsuko and Masaru, are very annoying. Masaru is your typical kid who he's just there and when he does something in an episode, he only made things worse since he unintentionally led an enemy towards Jirou and her sister. It doesn't help he's completely irrelevant outside of being Mitsuko's brother. Mitsuko is the source of romance in the show, which its extremely poorly developed, she's doesn't really know what to do, sometimes she hates robots, sometimes she cares about them to the point of having sex with Jirou before the last battle lol! They even dedicated an entire episode for her and her mom where she didn't contribute anything at the end (I think it was even a filler episode!). She's clearly inconsistent. Jirou is just plain, he doesn't know some obvious stuff but he knows more complicated stuff, the character is supposed to learn about human emotions but the show forgot for him to learn about common sense first. It doesn't help his personality doesn't act of someone who's mentally young, he should act as someone curious instead he's just cold, angry when he's controlled by either Gill or Saburo or just no emotion. Outside one-time characters, the irrelevant comical private investigator known as Hattori and his assistant don't contribute to anything relevant to the Anime (being the Kohmyoji siblings transport is not really useful especially since the siblings never have issues traveling places far away later lol). I felt the Anime could remove Masaru, Hattori and his assistant and use their scenes to develop better Mitsuko and Jirou.
The antagonists are slighty better but not by much. The good part, they are quite threatening and evil and generally their designs are good. The bad part, outside Saburo and the Bat Robot, they are the same character with just different designs. The generic robots are only introduced to die in the same episode, there's little to no variation among them if we talk about personalities. During the last 2-3 episodes, the Anime stopped doing this formula but it was already too late. Saburo has more personality being Jirou "little brother" and acts more as a deadly rival to Jirou, despite being allied with Gil, he doesn't really follow his orders (that's why he was betrayed later) and he has Dr. Kohmyoji which the show doesn't bother to explain why he has it (its even a plot device, its the only reason of why Jirou never kill him). Unfortunately, he was introduced too late and he was killed in the last episode. The Bat Robot is more eccentric and he was made to create a constrast to the rest of robots presented, since he can feel emotions and never killed someone, at least on-screen. Gil is just your typical evil scientist which evil for the sake of evil, he runs an evil organization and plans to take over the world, nothing is explained of why he wants to do such thing and he's just stupid like in the last episode its reveled he has a massive robot army of the same robots which Jirou fight over the entire Anime even from Saburo but he never used them before and it like the world is unaware of the existence of robots in the first place. The weird part Saburo has no idea of this robot army even if he doesn't really have to follow Gill's orders.
The pacing is bad. Its completely out of place, the episodes are mostly monster-of-the-week with little to no variation between them. When the Anime stopped doing this, it introduced Saburo but it was too late by this point since its just a single 1-cour. The drama is probably the worst aspect of this Anime, almost everything is overdramatic to the point its hard to take it seriously, the most obvious aspect are the bond of the Kohmyoji siblings and Jirou. Since the pacing is very fast, they don't really interact much before Jirou went missing the first time and the Kohmyoji siblings wants Jirou to return at all costs. No bonds of friendship were formed and they even wasted an entire episode in a recap instead of dedicating an entire episode for them at the beginning. Also, there's this drama with the Kohmyoji siblings's mom; she's supposedly a ruthless spy working for Gill to the point of having babies for him. The episode where she killed herself attempts to paint her as a Gill's victim when she's just clearly an evil women for having and abanding her own children. The Anime never implies or even suggest she was controlled by Gill, she did all by herself. The fights are not really worth to comment, most are win by Jirou having powerups or hitting more. It's pretty standard. Finally, the comedy is almost inexistent making the atmosphere very hostile for the viewer to sympathize with the characters.
Jinzou Ningen Kikaider The Animation desperately needs to have more episodes, alternating the monster-of-the-week episodes, introducing Saburo much earlier, Gill being much smart and erasing useless characters. As it is, it's an abomination of series and stay away from this.

Summer Ghost with its limited duration tries to do tries to do what it can and does it in a decent way. Let me explain, other drama series are full of melodrama which last longer than they have to but if you are looking for a short dramatic movie, then Summer Ghost is your answer.
The exceptional art style, surprisingly satisfying main theme OST are highlights of the movie especially when they are flying, which they are many, if you want to watch this movie for such scenes, I'd highly recommend it.
Characters? The cast is composed of 4 characters: the ghost and the humans. The ghost
...
and one of the main leads, Tomoya are the only ones that have enough characterization. Ryou and Ayane didn't much. My only complain about the movie is the lack of scenes between Ryou and Ayane with the ghost, they only interacted only 2 times in the entire movie, it's obvious the lack of interaction is due the movie doesn't last long, I highly suspected they were going to interact more since the ending implies that they interacted more times with the ghost otherwise there wouldn't be much sense of why they want to help her to look for her corpse. Such scenes could be easily added by sacrificing a bit of Tomoya's screen time. The only important side character is the ghost's mother, which the ending implies she didn't committed since she received the ghost's broach, who left that broach there or what happened to the ghost's corpse is left to interpretation. The final plot twist is magnificently well worked too since the film says Ryou is going to die from a terminal disease, very few drama tries to create something for the character to live, in fact this movie opening looked it was for that path but it was interesting to leave his death as the final scene making his appearances more interesting. A second ghost was a bit obvious for some but I like how it the revelation is executed.
So, if you want a drama movie which doesn't take up too much time, Summer Ghost is for you!

Ah, Yuuki Bakuhatsu Bang Bravern, one of the most curious mecha made in 2024. The comedy is significantly subjective but I laughed a lot on many occasions, especially when they try to be heroes who, despite being ridiculous at times, have a strong reasoning which not many series are dedicated to taking it seriously or ends being a poor parody.
Of course, they are too many characters, don't expect too much development or characterization beyond being just tropes,
this is especially evident with the antagonists who are at least explained why they act this way, they are the 7 deadly sins all along! Smith/Bravern,
...
Isami and Lulu are the main cast so they are the only who receive significant characterization with Isami being the most deep and interesting among them considering his characterization subversion of the typical tropes. I also found quite funny stoic characters expressing different emotions.
What stands out most about the series besides the comedy, is the animation. Bombastic battles full of various strategies combined with rule of cool scenes made the series stand out from the rest of mecha series.
My only issue I have with the series -which again isn't something too serious- is the time-loop of Smith being Bravern over and over no matter the timeline, while it wasn't too serious in the current timeline since he returned to his original human body at the end, such thing never happens in the original timeline since he -as Bravern- and Isami died in the final battle making a sad ending to both. This series also broke the "I must return to the past to prevent the bad future" trope since the future world is a peaceful one like the current timeline despite the pair do ultimately succeed in defeating the Deathdrives, Lulu wants to prevent both of our heroes death which she does at the end but doing do make her own robot -Superbia- dying instead -which doesn't happen in the original timeline. Saving the lives of two characters and letting one die is something I really didn't expect from the series and I'm glad it wasn't the typical ending where everyone lives. The world was devastated despite the happy ending and although it is not explained what happened after the end, I guess it's not be a good place to live!
If you're a fan of mecha series having rule of cool moments mixed with various strategies along with male characters bonds, you'll enjoy Yuuki Bakuhatsu Bang Bravern!

This is one of the most boring and unfunny shows that I've ever seen in my life.
Our main character moves into his uncle's diving shop, Grand Blue where he met almost all of the cast. I expected to find creative jokes and interesting characters but I was very disappointed.
The show barely try doing something new and becomes repetitive easily. The predominant jokes are: naked guys drinking, Kouhei and Iori fighting, forced misunderstanding and, to a lesser extent, Iori's friends harassing fellow virgin friends. I don't have any problems with this type of jokes (except the last one) but they are introduced so
...
many times in a short time. Honestly, it's a little annoying. The worst part is that the show almost never try to have a cohesive pacing with the jokes.
The characters didn't help either. Along with the 95% of the jokes, they are generic and one-dimensional. Most of the girls (Azusa and Nanaka) are just fanservice figures while that the guys only exist for the sake of the naked joke (Shinji and Ryuujirou). The rest of them are more independent of the generic jokes but they're eclipsed by them. Chisa is a generic angry girl/cousin, Kouhei is the self-insert character, Iori changes his personality depending of the joke, and Aina, despite that falls in the category of shy girl, have some personality and she's the only decent character in the entire show.
The story is quite simple and linear. Is easy to follow.
Surprisingly, Grand Blue has good moments about diving that were well handled by the studio but they barely appear and with the unfunny jokes in the middle is hardly enjoyable.
The animation is mostly good and the opening is amazing. On the other hand, OST is forgettable.
Some people are saying that the manga is better but, here, I'm just talking about the anime version. I never understood why Grand Blue receives so much admiration. Basically, I was bored to death. If you are looking for a very good comedy, I recommend you to watch Asobi Asobase.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILER
Violet Evergarden, another anime of the popular studio KyoAni. Let's start.
The anime occurs after a war. Our MC is called Violet, a blond girl with prosthetic arms. She is working as a Doll (a woman that writes letters) because she needs to know the meaning of 'I love you'. Then, she will know many people in her journey. A nice story awaits us. What could go wrong? Everything!
The story. Most of the anime is episodic (3-8 and 10-11). The ploblem is that the writing is very bad and repetitive. No matter how good the production quality or the soundrack is,
...
the writing is more important. If the writing IS bad, the anime IS bad. Every episode is just some forgettable, artificial and generic melodrama that tries so hard to be tragic/sad rather than telling a good story. Reasons: 1) I don't care about a character that i just recently met. 2) Every episode have the same repetitive formula: Violet showing her prosthetic arms → the side character is surprised → Violet writing the letter and the drama starts. 3) Many of that side character have no personality besides of being just plot devices. I'm going to explain this much latter. 4) Many episodes are a just wasted of time that barely affect Violet. That's not 'character development'. The anime relies too much on tragic backstories to the point of being unrealistic. Also the story is pointless when suddenly changes to a poorly explained war story. Finally, the show seems addicted to start with the stories of the side characters instead of giving more backstory to our MC first.
The main character. Violet is a cute, innocent and stoic girl, i cannot deny that. But that the only decent traits of her. The anime tries everytime to make her look perfect for the sake of the plot. The most clear example is in the third episode when Violet goes to the school to be a Doll. She doesn't pass the course yet she pass after write some letters. Violet could accept his mistakes and later do the course again. It's too convenient. Another trait is that she is a killing machine super soldier. She can -for unexplained reasons- kill many trained soldiers easily. How she can do that? We never know. The prosthetic arms have no purpose in the story besides being pure shock factor -the way of how she gotten them is not explained-. I supposed that she can kill many people because of that arms but the flashbacks say otherwise. His character development is almost nonexistent, even after she learns the truth about Gilbert. The worst part is how she loses both arms doesn't really make sense. First, did she feel pain after losing both arms? A normal person never could carry someone after that inmense pain. Second, didn't she passed out of blood loss? And finally, the enemies only shoot them one time before being killed by Violet and Gilbert, rather than shooting many bullets in the first place. If the they're smart, Violet and Gilbert will be killed in seconds. Another similar scene ocurrs in the episode 12: the train hijacking. A unarmed Violet -she doesn't want to defend herself despite that she can be killed by armed guys- defeats many armed soldiers. Many of them are armed yet nobody shoots until is too late. Why didn't they just shoot Violet on top of the train? That not making any sense.......Finally, the anime poorly explain the origin of Violet. She is just a Mary Sue.
The Bougainvillea brothers. Gilbert is an army major and the love interest/father figure of Violet. The anime doesn't make it clear. We only known of him is that he is nice and a good person to Violet. He is nice guy anything else?. And then, Dietfried, the opposite of Gilbert. He is mean, rude and hate Violet. Also, he is the man who found her. His only trait is being a dick to Violet because she killed his subordinates -the context was never explained- and blames her for the death of Gilbert -something that makes no sense-. That is a bad plot idea to keep it relevent. The worst part is that the anime attempts to paint him as an angsty asshole in every scene rather than giving him decent traits.
The CH Postal Company where Violet and other two Dolls works have some characters. The most interesting are Benedict and Cattleya. I like their chemistry and was one of the few decent moments in the entire show besides the animation. Sadly, they have limited screen time. It's feels like a wasted potential. Now, the other side characters that receive tons of screen time -in their episode- are merely plot devices or are poorly written. A random example from episode 6 with the character of Leon. He had discontent for Dolls, yet he was immediately enamored by Violet as soon as he laid eyes on her. Their only purpuse of is existence is to remind you that they are tragic people and nothing more. The animes fails to present a light-hearted story and gets repetitive.
Mrs. Evergarden is the worst side character in the entire show. The first episode give us to understand more interactions with her foster daughter. Too bad. She disappears for 7 episodes and returns to explain a plot point and then disappears again. What is the point of her character?
The villains from the last three episodes are just your typical bad guys. That was clear when one of them wants to torture a side character and in another episode he is giving us a evil smile to reminds us that he is bad guy.
The soundrack is decent in most parts, sometimes is forgettable anyway.
Finally, looking beyond the extremely good production (best of the season), interesting soundtrack, and amazing backdrops, there’s just not much there.
Story 2/10 Bad written, emotionally manipulative, poorly paced and pointless. A lot of plot holes.
Art 8.5/10 Very good.
Sound 7/10 Passable soundrack, decent voice actors.
Character 1.5/10 Generic, bad written, little to no development.
Enjoyment 3.5/10 Boring.
Overall 3.5/10

Ahhhh, Dragon Ball Super, the canon version of some weird fanfiction called Dragon Ball AF. Let's start!
*Movie recaps: you can't start an anime with just a recap of the first two (bad) movies. It's feels more like filler and just a waste of time. The episodes are excessively long and the terrible animation is over the top. EXAMPLE? Remember episode 5? The story is bad just like that movies. Retcons, asspulls, resurrections, lazy designs of 'new' transformations. 1/10
*Super Tournament Arc: the reason of this Tournament makes no sense in the first place. Champa can gather the Super Dragon Balls without discuss with Bills. I
...
know that fights are important here but at least give me a decent reason of why they are fighting! The worst part is that they are a disaster (asspulls, zero strategy). Piccolo is defeated by Frost because he was cheating, for that, he can't return. Goku is defeated for the same reason yet he can return!? Because is the MC, of course! The arc is just Vegeta and Goku vs Universe 6. The other characters are just wasted potential. Majin Boo can't enter because he failed to some written test? LMAO 2/10
*Future Trunks Arc: they tried to give us a different villain there but as the arc proceeds it becomes your sadist and standart villain. Zamatsu is highly hypocritical, he wants to kill all the mortals believing them to be the source of all evil. Yes, i got it! But you can do that with Super Dragon Ball that you had! Why do you slowly kill everybody!? The series tries (and fail) to sympathise with him but he is just a sadist! Almost all the scenes are bad: Trunks being just a Gary Stu (just look the ending of the battle!), repetive (so many time travels are just ridiculous!), asspulls, Goku Black have some unexplained and forced new transformation (also the desing is very lazy), Goku being more idiot than ever and they tried to establish a weird and nonsense romance between Future Mai and Future Trunks LOL?! 2/10 (the only interesting scene was Future Zeno erasing all the universes).
*Tournament of Power Arc (or the Tournament of Asspulls Arc): the most 'hyped' tournament! I know that Goku loves fighting but what he do is something antithetical here, everybody that loses this tournament will be erased by Zeno. Despite that, Goku doesn't care and just want to fight strong guys. This arc consists on two factors: no tension or forced tension. The first were in the first episodes of the arc and in the middle. It was supposed that everybody IN THE UNIVERSE will be killed if they lose yet many of them take the issue far too lightly. The second is the overdramatic episodes, many are scared that universe 7 will be erased! Nobody remeber the ending of Z? They are alive! There are some interesting subplots that were forgotten like Frieza plan in the tournament (nothing happens in the end). The fights are slightly better but the asspulls are still over the place again. The most clear example was Kefla (Caulifla and Kale fusion), she exists just to be owerpower and nothing more. And now, Jiren, is personality is all over the place. First, he is a calm guy that thinks before acting. Suddenly, after some generic and tragic flashback, he goes full fledged yandere for no reason! There is no consistency in anyway. Of course, the ending is just everybody reviving. I don't dislike so much this arc like the others, 17 and 18 were cool and very few fights scenes are decent. 3/10
The lack of blood, bad animation, retcons that ruined Z, the characters are just parodies of themselves, asspulls. Ehh, this series makes me ashamed to like Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. It hurts that a decent franchise was ruined just for the sake of money.

An original anime that have a lot of potential to be great but ends so disappointing.
[Story: 3/10]
The story is slow (and with bad pacing) in most of episodes, mostly in the episodes 1-4 and 9-11. Sometimes some scenes are out of place, for example the baseball scenes with the adults in the middle.
[Character: 3/10]
Besides Komiya and maybe Haruto, all the characters feels boring, lack of personality and are one-sided. Komiya and his outgoing personality makes great moments for the anime, more that most of the main cast. Haruto in some scenes is good, in others not so much. Eita is boring character unless he
...
is with Komiya.
Their moments with Natsume feels awkward and out of place. Morikawa lacks of personality until the last episodes. I like the friend of Morikawa, Yoriko. Finally, Nastume, a character that is so jealous and indecisive that feels annoying and as a plot device in much episodes. The worst part is that the anime is pro-Natsume and anti-Komiya.
[Art: 6/10]
I like the animation despite some episodes (ex. 5) have bad animated scenes.
[Sound: 5/10]
I have no problems with the soundrack. In my opinion, is not bad neither good. The opening is forgettable anyway.
[Enjoyment: 4/10]
Again, the only moments with decent comedy are Eita/Ena and Haruto. The scenes with Natsume makes me angry, she is jealous because Eita is with Komiya when she have some feelings for Haruto (because of an erase, really? ). I like the scenes with Yoriko, Haruto (sometimes) and Komiya, they are worth of watching.
Overall
Just Because! is bad. If Eita have ended up with Ena, it will receive a 6 or maybe 7 of my part but nope, a generic ending with the main girl that did nothing in the entire show. Poor Komiya. 4/10

Story (2/10)
Except for the last two episodes, there is no plot in none of the 10 episodes. Some are just background of Libra members (4,6,7), others are nonsense ( 1,8,9) and some are rushed (2,3,10). The episodes 8 and 9 are the worst of the season. The episodic episodes feels like a bunch of OVA mixed together.
Art (7/10)
In this aspect the show in much better than the other options. The fights have very good animation and the colour is beautiful.
Sound (6/10)
...
Besides the opening and the ending, i don't remember much of the soundrack.
Characters (3/10)
Despite the show have episodes dedicated to Libra members, after that, their presence feels nonexistent. Also they still are some Libra members that barely know anything. Leo is undeveloped until the last two episodes, he is just beaten all the time. Klaus feels more a background character in most episodes unlike the first season. Zapp have less screen. Steven in the only character in this season that was well treated.
The villains: all are generic, boring and are the same just with different designs. The Blood Breed of episode 10 and the villain of the last two episodes are the only with personality in the entire season. They are so bad written that i just remember the villains of the first season. Aligura and Femt barely appears despite being in the opening.
Enjoyment (3/10)
I don't like most of the episodes. Nearly all the episodes are just the same: some generic villain do something against a Libra member → characters try to finding them or do something to defeat them→ explosions everywhere and the generic villain is defeated. Even in the background episodes this happens.
Overall
I don't like this season. Despite the first season was average (5/10), this season feels more chaotic and a wasted of time in most of the 10 episodes. This season handled very bad the villains and forget Femt and Aligura. Only for the animation and the last two episodes, my score for Kekkai Sensen & Beyond is 4/10.

A show that could be much better if had at least 24 episodes:
Things that i like:
+The opening
+Some characters designs
+Rat so some degree
+Some parts of episode 10
Things that i don't like:
-Too much flashbacks
-Some episodes are predictable
...
-Bad animation in most episodes
-Rushed battles.
-The twins are boring and they have TWO episodes of flashbacks.
-Anticlimatic and dumb deaths (The Horse, Sheep)
-Overpower Rabbit (and no flashback)
-The wish in the last episode
-Ox past is not fully explored.
Also the series could be better if they explain more about the presentator of the game that we never know where come from. Whose are those people that are betting for the game? The anime have a lot of plot holes even the flashbacks of some characters.

Ousama Game the Animation. The comedy of the season. The characters are so funny how they died (the girl that falls from the windows, why is so much blood when she falls?? that's not making any sense) all the side characters are plot device, for example: first episodes when some boys are beating the MC for reasons and the girl suddenly becomes pyscho in the second episode (and we don't talk about how they believe her when she accuses the MC of rape but that bitch wants sex early with another guy). Other intelligent character is the girl that wants to know who is the
...
king (how amazing order) and she becomes blind (and she can write like a normal person in the sand and walk without problems for so long!!) Also why they adapt first adapt the second game and then we have to much flashbacks of the first game when THE MC SAYS THAT EVERYBODY DIES why i should care about characters of the first game that have to die anyway? Where is the police in this anime? Sadly that an amazing opening is on one of the worst anime of the season.
Edit: the anime becomes worse than ever. Worst anime of the season 0/10
