Hunter x Hunter's first series. It doesn't cover nearly as much as HxH 2011 and is slower paced but is sitll a slightly different adaptation of the first arcs of HxH.

I know its kind of a cheap recommendation, but genuinely I recommend watching the 90's version of of HxH. Stands as its own piece of media quite well with a very different take on the same world you'll already be familiar with after 148 episodes of the 2011 series. Overall darker tone while still having a melancholic air to it. Scenes like Killua ripping out someones heart aren't censored. There are some extra scenes during the exam arc that didn't make the cut in 2011 that show another side of the characters. Ends halfway

It remains incredible. The change is that there are things that don't exist in 2011, things that didn't happen. Things take longer in 1999 but it's still cool
