Hello I get what you mean, Haikyuu is super straightforward sports hype, while Reborn is more layered. The slow start is real, but it’s not filler. it’s laying the groundwork for the MC growth and the bonds with his friends. Once the Varia Arc kicks in, it shifts into high-stakes battles, mafia politics, and power systems that feel way deeper.

You can totally enjoy it for the character arcs, the creative fight mechanics, and the whole “ordinary kid becoming a leader” theme. It’s got heart and payoff beyond the surface

so yeah, it engages past the slow burn.
