This would be remarkable, next best thing to the Parasyte adaptation which I thought was a pipe-dream, but hey. Turns out dreams really do come true.

7 year dead thread I know, but I doubt this would ever get an adaptation. i feel there’s just too much violence and sexual content that would be censored, and a lot of it is important for the story and characters. that doesn’t completely mean it couldn’t happen though, something with lots of violence and nudity as well, Dorohedoro, did get an adaptation from MAPPA in 2020, and also with their Chainsaw Man adaptation this year, I can see MAPPA pulling off Eden, but I still don’t think it will happen.

If it did get animated, it would likely be an OVA series or a Netflix original because I highly doubt they would be able to show some of the stuff in this manga on cable TV.

Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.

Also.. this manga contains many topics that are politically sensitive.
The China-Uighur thing for example.

I think anime producers won't be willing to bother with the potential problems.

Honestly, if Eden were to be made nowadays, the only thing problematic would be the sexual content, so unless this becomes a netflix original, say goodbye to your animated blowjobs. But even then they might use framing and stuff to hide the more explicit details.

But when it comes violence, I don't think there will be an issue. Even anime airing on tv are lax on censorship and gore. Higurashi Gou has scenes that are probably more graphic and violent than anything in Eden from the few things I've seen so far. I've seen heads being ripped off in first episode of Muv Luv Alternative and that airs on a public network. My Hero Academia showed a dog and a young child exploding into bloody chunks of gore and that's a kids show. As for substance abuse, Banana Fish exists.

The only thing I can think of that will be too extreme for anime standards would be Kenji's backstory.

Enoa, Letitia and Maya's VAs are so spot on, I can hear those VAs voicing them when I was reading them but these are my new choices:
